Fitted properly.
Serviced for life.
Chillston installs discreet air conditioning for homes across Beaconsfield, Marlow, Amersham and the surrounding villages — it heats as well as it cools, sized room by room, checked against the noise and planning rules, then looked after every year so you never think about it.
One room, or the whole house
Every system we fit both cools and heats efficiently, so the bedroom that's comfortable in July is cheap to warm in January.
Single-room comfort
One indoor unit for a bedroom, home office or sitting room. Installed and commissioned in a day.
Whole-home multi-split
Two to five rooms from one quiet outdoor unit. Positions, pipe runs and controls planned before we drill a single hole.
Servicing & repair
For systems we fitted and ones we didn't. Coil and blower wheel cleaned, condensate flushed, pressures and electrics checked. Written report every visit.
Fixed price, agreed in writing before anything is ordered — no day rates, no variations invented on the day. A deposit covers the equipment; the balance is due only once the system is running as it should.
You will see it every day for fifteen years
Most quotes name a model without ever asking what the room looks like.
Daikin Perfera
Matt white, softly rounded, and the one most people picture when they picture air conditioning. In a bedroom or a study it sits quietly as part of the room.
- Matt white
Daikin Stylish
189 mm deep — among the slimmest made, which is what you notice on a shallow wall above a door or under a low ceiling. Eight finishes, including real-wood and fabric fronts.
- White
- Silver
- Black
- Wood
- Fabric
Daikin Emura
A curved metal panel rather than a plastic box, 90 cm wide and designed to be looked at. For a sitting room or a kitchen where hiding it was never going to work.
- Matt white
- Silver
- Matt black
All three are the same class of efficiency and all three go down to 19 dB(A) at their quietest, so the choice is genuinely about what you want to look at. They also share one outdoor unit, which means you can mix them room by room — the plain one where nobody looks, the wood or the black one where everybody does.

Five things most quotes skip
Every cut corner in this trade is invisible on the day and expensive three years later.
-
Heat load
Every room measured — volume, glazing, which way it faces, what sits above it.
Guesswork oversizes the unit — cold but clammy, expensive to run, and short cycles shorten its life.
-
Sound
Worked out at your neighbour’s nearest window — and the figure is on your quote.
The limit is 37 dB(A) (MCS 020, mandatory since 2025) and many skip it. Skipped, one complaint moves the unit at your cost — and you still have the neighbour.
-
Planning
Your address checked against the national register while we are still in the house.
Conservation areas and Article 4 directions change where a unit may go. Better found before the quote than after.
-
Warranty
Registered with Daikin and the commissioning documents uploaded, so the cover is live from the day we leave.
Their terms void cover without documented annual servicing, and ask for proof at claim.
-
Electrics
Carried out and certified by a registered electrician, notified under Part P.
The certificate comes in their name, not ours. The system is pressure-tested and commissioned, and you get the readings.
The same five things, every single time
This is our process, written down and the same on every job — one bedroom or a whole house.
- Every wall scanned before it is drilled. Cables and pipes found first, never discovered.
- Overshoes from the front door. On and off every time we come in, all day.
- Dust sheets the whole way — hall, stairs, landing, room. Not just under the ladder.
- Core dust caught at the wall as it is drilled, rather than swept off your carpet afterwards.
- Everything leaves with us — packaging, offcuts, and the old unit if there is one.
If we mark anything, we put it right at our cost.
"The person who surveys your home is the person who installs your system, and the person who answers if you call next summer."
No call centres, no rotating subcontractors, no van that never comes back. We take on the number of installations we can do properly, and look after every one for as long as you own it.

Before you ask
What does air conditioning actually cost?
A single-room system typically comes in between £2,400 and £3,500 installed. Three things move it: the unit you choose, the length of the pipe run, and the electrical work. Multi-room systems start around £4,800. Every quote is fixed and itemised — the price we give is the price you pay.
Is the electrical work included?
Yes. Every installation includes a dedicated circuit, installed and certified by a registered electrician and notified under Part P — the certificate comes to you in their name. The one thing that can change the price is your consumer unit. If there's a spare way, it's covered by the quoted price. If it's full, or old enough to need replacing, that is typically £400–£800 on top — and we tell you at the survey, not on install day.
Do I need planning permission?
Usually not. The rules changed on 29 May 2025 and most domestic air conditioning is now permitted development — the outdoor unit size limit went up, the one-metre boundary rule went, and systems that heat as well as cool were brought inside the rules. The main things that still change the answer are a cooling-only system and a listed building. We check your address as part of the free survey, before anything is ordered. Read the full guide →
How noisy is it?
Modern indoor units run at 19–26 dB on low — quieter than a library. Outdoor units are placed deliberately: away from bedrooms, patios and your neighbour's windows. We'll agree the position with you at the survey.
Can it really heat my house in winter?
Yes — every system we install is a heat pump, delivering roughly 3–4 kW of heat for every 1 kW of electricity. Many customers use theirs more in January than July.
How long does installation take?
A single-room system is almost always done in a day: dust sheets down in the morning, cool air by late afternoon. Multi-room systems typically take two days.
