Indoor units

The three we recommend, side by side

Every system we fit is Daikin, and these are the three wall units we recommend: what each looks like, its finishes and its size.

Daikin Perfera indoor unit in white
The plain one

Daikin Perfera

White and softly rounded: the one most people picture when they picture air conditioning. It sits quietly in a bedroom or study, and it’s the most efficient of the three.

Finish
White
Size
80 cm wide, 30 cm high, 25 cm deep
Best for
Bedrooms and studies, wherever it should blend in

Daikin Stylish indoor unit with a light wood-effect front
The slim one

Daikin Stylish

The slimmest of the three, so it sits closest to the wall: good above a bed, in a narrow room or under a sloping ceiling. Its eight finishes can match the room.

Finishes
White, silver or black; light or dark wood; grey or colourful fabric; dark brown leather. The wood, fabric and leather are effects, not the real thing.

Daikin Emura indoor unit in matt black
The statement

Daikin Emura

Curved front and back, and the widest of the three. It’s made to be looked at: for a sitting room or a kitchen, where hiding it was never going to work.

Which one?

Start with the room. If the unit should disappear, the Perfera. If space above a bed or under a slope is tight, the Stylish. If it’s a room people look at, the Emura, or a Stylish in a finish that suits it. One outdoor unit can run any mix of the three.

The detail: efficiency, sound and sizes

In the sizes most rooms need, up to 3.5 kW, all three carry the top A+++ energy label for cooling and for heating, and all three go down to 19 dB(A). Within that label, the Perfera is the most efficient. For cooling it uses 6–8% less electricity than the other two, about £2 a year on Daikin’s figures. For heating, which is where most of the electricity goes if you use it through the winter, the three are within 1% of each other. On a one-room system the Perfera’s outdoor unit is also a little larger: 92 cm wide against 84. In the larger sizes, for big rooms, all three drop to A++.

On a multi-split the efficiency depends on the combination, and your quote states it.

And the unit outside

It goes out of sight where the house allows: a side or rear wall, or on the ground behind a hedge or a garden wall, away from your neighbours’ windows. The pipes run indoors where they can, and outside in neat trunking. Both positions are agreed at the survey and written into your quote.
